BeatBots - Keepon
Rhythmic social robots for research, therapy, and entertainment
BeatBots LLC creates robotic characters that span the domains of research, therapy, and entertainment. The first BeatBots product is Keepon Pro, a commercially available hardware and software platform that is used as a tool for meditated therapeutic intervention for children with developmental disorders such as autism. Keepon Pro is also used for social development research in educational settings and as an interactive exhibit in museum settings. A follow-on product for the mass market is under development.
Keepon has quickly gained wide recognition by the public and in the media. Research involving Keepon has been published in numerous international conferences and journals, including Progress in Brain Research and the International Journal of Social Robotics. Keepon has won numerous awards and has appeared in news outlets such as the History Channel, New Scientist, and NPR.
